When you look at your home and you see something that is out of place, what do you do? Fix it? Most homeowners do, but there are some things that might seem like they were installed wrong that in reality aren’t. Take kickout flashing for example. The purpose of kickout flashing is to push water out and away from areas of your home that are sensitive, such as the intersection of a wall and a roof section, but the problem is that they don’t look very pretty. This has led some homeowners to the conclusion that they are damaged or installed wrong, and they remove them, now leaving their home prone to water damage.
Of course, it is possible to install it again to fix the problem, but the damage might already be serious.
If you notice that kickout flashing is missing from your home, get it back there as soon as possible.
