Window films are available in any hardware store, and they can be temporary, semi-permanent or permanent.
The cheapest option is to go with a temporary screen. It usually comes in a long roll that is applied to the window. These films don’t completely block out sunlight, but they can greatly lower cooling costs by preventing the sunlight from heating up your home.
If you want to remove the film from your windows, it can usually be done using alcohol and a razor blade, but you should be careful so as not to damage your window.
Removing the film in the winter time will let you take advantage of the sun’s heat to save on your heating bills.
