Is it safe to walk up to your home? Why do I ask? Many times, the cement walkways around a home could start heaving and cracking with age. When this happens, it can be very dangerous, causing people to trip and fall. With the cost involved with removing the old sidewalk and pouring a new one, you might hesitate to do anything about the problem, but there is a cheaper and simpler alternative called mudjacking. When mudjacking is performed, holes are drilled into your existing walkway. A mixture of cement, soil and water is the pumped into the holes to level the walkway. This is a very delicate process that needs to be done by professionals, especially since there is a risk of damaging pipes and wires underneath the walkway, if you don’t know what you are doing. After the process is completed, your walkway will once again be flat and safe for walking on.
